  Vacuum coating - vacuum deposition of thin layers (vaporation) uses the fact that some substances can be evaporated under reduced pressure. Molecules of the evaporized substance (it is most often metal or metal oxide) move in a vacuum in a straight line, condense on the substrate and form thin layers.
